Can I book a pro in my ZIP?
Enter your ZIP when you start. We check which trades have pros serving your area before you continue. If yours isn't covered yet, you can ask to hear when it is.
When will I get my price?
For many jobs, your answers let us show prices from the pros' lists. Other jobs need a pro to review your photos first, or an assessment visit for a set fee. We'll tell you which applies before you send your request.
What does my price include?
Your quote shows the work included, parts and who supplies them, anything excluded, and any Townhand fee before you book. If the pro finds extra work, they price it first and wait for your approval.
What if something is wrong afterward?
Report the problem from your booking so the pro can respond. Every pro guarantees their workmanship for at least 90 days. See what the guarantee covers.
When is my card charged?
Not when you book: your card is saved, not charged. After the visit, once the pro records the completed work, it's charged for the agreed price and any extra work you approved.
What if the pro finds more to do?
They show you the extra work and its price on your booking. You can approve it or say no. Nothing extra goes ahead without your yes.
Can I cancel or move my visit?
You can cancel or move your visit free until 24 hours before it starts. After that, cancelling costs $49 if you had the free cancellation period, and you need to contact the pro to move it. See the cancellation terms.
Do I need an account?
No. Get prices and book without an account. We'll email you the link to manage your booking. An account keeps your bookings and home details together.
What if my job isn't listed?
Choose “Something else” under the trade and describe it. A pro reviews the job, then prices it or suggests an assessment visit for a set fee.
Can Townhand help in an emergency?
Townhand books scheduled visits. For a burst pipe or flooding, a gas smell or carbon monoxide alarm, sparks or smoke, a chimney fire, or a roof giving way, get help right away.
